VISION

Fellowship with Christ and Each Other

“Our lives become brighter and more beautiful as God enters and we become like him.” — 2 Corinthians 3:18b

What Does This Look Like?

Communities of marketplace women actively letting the light of Christ shine in and through us at home and in our workplace. Fellowship with Christ and Each Other is Christian business women actively engaged in three relationships:

Intimacy with Christ. That we might be aligned with Christ is His heart’s desire. Out of this intimacy, we develop Christ-like character. A personal connection to the presence of God is key to our eternity, our life and our witness in the marketplace.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” — John 15:5

Community with Believers. Those who isolate themselves from God’s family and try to go it alone cut themselves off from God’s power. Community brings us together as co-laborers in one body for Christ and is essential to the ongoing life of a Christian.

“Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another — and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” — Hebrews 10:25

Influence with Unbelievers. As business women, our unique sphere of influence is with others in the marketplace. Daily we strive to live our life in a way that we let the Light of Christ shine through us in our words, actions, and conduct.

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” — Matthew 5:1

MISSION STATEMENT

CBWF connects, encourages and equips business women to grow in Christ-likeness and to be influencers for Him in their personal and professional lives.

What Does This Look Like?

Connects. As followers of Christ, we yearn for a more significant purpose greater than ourselves. By connecting with Christ and others, we can experience the type of satisfaction that fills our life with eternal meaning.

“May God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and increase your numbers until you become a community of peoples.” — Genesis 28: 2-4

Encourages. Encourage means to instill confidence and courage for action or endurance. We live in a world of challenges, hardships, negativity, and disappointments. Support in tough times provides the hope to preserve and builds us up in faith.

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Equips. CBWF equips business women to integrate their faith into the darkness of the marketplace, to lead and disciple others and to find fulfillment and significance in their professional, personal and spiritual lives.

“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.” — 2 Timothy 2:2

CORE PRINCIPLES

The following principles form the foundation and are the “compass” providing direction for our ministry.  When applied consistently, they become behavioral habits of a woman living a life of Kingdom significance and abundance.

Living the Word. The Bible molds and guides us. God, through His Word, changes us from the inside out and conforms us to the image of Christ. He uses the Bible to speak and guide us down the right path. Transformation occurs by growing spiritually through God’s Word and we become “salt” and “light.”

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” — Psalm 119:105

Developing Disciples. The true business of a Christian is to invest in others to build the Kingdom. Christ called us to “go and make disciples of all Nations.” Discipleship is learning to become more like Christ and to experience a growing relationship with Him. We have an awesome privilege and responsibility both to be a student and a teacher of what it means to be in Christ, walk in the spirit and live by faith.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” — Matthew 28:19

Persistent Prayer. Aligns us with God and establishes and nurtures a personal relationship with Him. Any effort is in vain without the blessing of God as we are continuously seeking His salvation for the lost, His encouragement for one another, and His direction for self and the ministry.

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.” — Ephesians 6:18

Creating Relationships. Investing in others is the secret to impacting lives and changing the world. When we create ongoing trusting relationships, we help others to know Christ because we are daily modeling the Good News. Our actions and words show forth Christ’s radiance and love causing others to want what we have received in Christ.

“… Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.” — 1 Thessalonians 2:8
